Cranial cruciate ligament disease is more commonly a progressive and degenerative condition, resulting from stretching and partial tears of the ligament over time. As the disease progresses, there is a thickening of the joint and the development of osteoarthritis. It is a painful condition that often goes unnoticed causing great discomfort. I humbly introduce Zak: a two-year-old rescued boerboel who has Cruciate Ligament Disease in both back legs. He struggled to walk and was understandably grumpy from time to time being in constant pain. Zak had a difficult start to life as a puppy but his awesome personality, survivor spirit, and loving heart makes it worth all we can do for him.
